NEW YORK, NY – STV today announced that Kim Vierheilig, AIA, NCARB, LEED AP, president of the firm’s national buildings group, has been appointed to the U.S. Department of Transportation’s (USDOT) Beautifying Transportation Infrastructure Council (BTIC).

The council advises on strategies that elevate the design quality, character and user experience of transportation infrastructure nationwide. In this role, Vierheilig will draw on her experience leading complex civic, transportation and institutional building programs to help shape design-focused federal infrastructure investments.

Vierheilig’s growing list of industry recognitions underscores her role as a leading voice in advancing design-forward, community-centered infrastructure. Recent honors include a Salute to Women in Construction award from the New Jersey Alliance for Action for her contributions to statewide infrastructure investment; Professional Women in Construction’s Salute to Women of Achievement award for her leadership in developing talent and expanding opportunities for emerging professionals; and her election to the National Academy of Construction’s class of 2025 for her impact on design excellence and project delivery.

Since joining STV in 2022, Vierheilig has strengthened the firm’s national buildings group by expanding strategic leadership, deepening interdisciplinary capabilities and sharpening its design direction across key markets. Under her guidance, the team has advanced transformative projects, including site design for Baltimore’s new Harborplace and planning and architectural services for the Walter Rand Transportation Center Transit-Oriented Development in Camden, New Jersey.
