Environment One Corporation

Pressure Sewer Systems

Pressure sewage collection systems were pioneered by Environment One. E/One Sewer systems have proven to be an effective method of sewering otherwise difficult land areas, such as flat, wet, rocky and hilly terrain at a fraction of the cost of gravity sewers. Pressure sewer mains need only to be buried just below the frost line, eliminating the need for the deep trenches often associated with gravity sewers. The small, flexible pipes are also resistant to I&I.

At the heart of an E/One Sewer is the grinder pump, developed by Environment One. These units accept household sanitary waste, grind it into a fine slurry, and pressurize it to permit transport through small-diameter pipes. E/One Sewer Systems serve more than 2 million end users daily.

PRESTO GEOSYSTEMS

The GEOWEB Soil Confinement System offers flexible solutions for challenging soil stabilization problems. The GEOWEB System strengthens and transforms fill material, improving performance in a variety of applications.

For controlling erosion, the GEOWEB System’s cellular structure stabilizes the upper soil layer on slopes to resist sliding and prevent surface runoff erosion. In channel designs, the system controls stormwater and replaces expensive riprap and reinforced concrete with vegetation and poured-in-place concrete.

GEOWEB Retaining Walls offer a natural aesthetic and are designed to help meet green initiatives. Using the GEOWEB system to build roads with onsite, low-quality fill reduces cost and installation time.

Presto offers free project evaluations, fast and easy specification tools, and engineering consultation.

Applied Bolting Technology

Applied Bolting Technology produces DuraSquirt DTIs (Direct Tension Indicators) that supply a bright orange indication when bolts have been tensioned, making tight bolts easy to see. DTIs are load cells that ensure compliance with bolting standards and specs. Torque, Turn-of-Nut and TCs can all produce false-positive tension, and regularly do: Torque scatter is ±40 percent for new bolts, and worse for weathered. Relying on torque is optimism, at best. TCs are torque bolts adversely affected by cold or wet weather. Turn-of-Nut can be defeated by misrepresenting turn angle, regardless of turn applied. DTIs read load. If a bolt is tight, a DuraSquirt DTI will show it, independent of weather, torque, angle, tool or skill.

The Steel Joist Institute

The Steel Joist Institute (SJI) was founded in 1928 to address the lack of uniform joist standards within the industry. We are a nonprofit organization of active joist manufacturers and other individuals and entities connected to the industry. Today, SJI continues to maintain the standards for steel joist construction as an ANSI-approved Standards Developing Organization. In addition, SJI provides resources, including publications, live and recorded webinars, and design tools to assist structural engineers or other AEC professionals with utilization of steel joists and joist girders. The Roof and Floor Bay Analysis Tools provide efficient and economical joist and joist girder options, including cost data, for most projects. Additionally, they include a vibration check (floor) and a ponding analysis (roof). We also offer tools such as the Joist and Joist Girder Reinforcement Tool, and we assist in identifying existing joists in buildings undergoing retrofit. SJI products are included in RISA, RAM, SCIA, Dlubal and SkyCiv software packages.

Xypex Chemical Corporation manufactures a range of concrete waterproofing and repair products used in the construction or restoration of bridges, water and sewage infrastructure, foundations, marine structures, and tunnels.

Our crystalline technology has been tested and proven worldwide in widely varying construction conditions.

Xypex crystalline waterproofing becomes a permanent, integral part of the structure by filling and plugging the pores, capillaries and hairline cracks in concrete. Its non-soluble crystalline formation will not lose its adhesion, be punctured, tear or come apart at the seams, unlike membranes.

Xypex crystalline waterproofing is available as a coating (for positive or negative-side application), an admixture and dry-shake material for new slab construction.

Shuriken

Make field welds a thing of the past with Shuriken—better bolted connections that allow you to field bolt any application where access to both sides of a connection is limited. Shuriken allows you to pre-install a nut in the shop in hard-to-reach places, allowing you to field bolt what you would otherwise have to field weld. Because there are no labor-intensive and time-consuming field welds, and bolted connections require less-intensive field inspection, Shuriken can significantly speed up a project’s timeline.
