In celebration of 25 years of SidePlate, we present big news for the steel construction industry.  SidePlate has always been the leader in moment frame connections, starting out with an all-welded connection after the Northridge, CA earthquake. But the construction industry wanted an easier connection so in 2013 the SidePlate Field-Bolted Connection was introduced and spread across the nation. Eliminating field-welding in climates with cool temperatures meant faster erection times—no preheating for welds, no weather delays, bolting was just better.

So in 2020 we listened to the industry—again—and are introducing the SidePlate All-Bolted connections. Available in Wide-Flange, HSS-to-HSS and HSS-to-Wide-Flange, these connections eliminate the need for welding in the shop and in the field!

The designs will be available from SidePlate starting on July 1, 2020.
