The Senate Committee on Appropriations released all 12 of its fiscal year 2021 funding measures and subcommittee allocations on November 10: paving the way for negotiations to begin with the House of Representatives, which released a “minibus” of appropriations bills on July 31. Sen. Richard Shelby
“By and large, these bills are the product of bipartisan cooperation among members of the committee. As negotiations with the House begin in earnest, I look forward … to resolve our differences in a bipartisan manner,” noted Sen. Richard Shelby, R-Ala., chairman of the committee, in a statement.
“Time after time, we have demonstrated our willingness to work together and get the job done,” he added. “We have before us the opportunity to deliver for the American people once again.”
The Transportation, Housing, Urban Development, and related agencies or THUD FY 2021 appropriations bill issued by the Senate would provide $74.838 billion total funding, with the U.S. Department of Transportation receiving more than $61.3 billion. That funding bill would also provide:
$48.7 billion for the Federal Highway Administration, including $1.4 billion for bridges
$13 billion for the Federal Transit Administration and $2.8 billion for the Federal Railroad Administration
$1 billion for Better Utilizing Investments to Leverage Development or BUILD discretionary grant program
$18 billion for the Federal Aviation Administration
