Precast Concrete Plants Celebrate 2025 PCI Precast Days
CHICAGO, October 6, 2025 – Members of the Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute (PCI) are opening their doors this week as they celebrate 2025 PCI Precast Days, October 6-10.
PCI-certified producer members are hosting open houses at their plants and conducting tours of their production facilities for students, members of the community, and other interested individuals. Precast Days is an ideal way to get young people who are thinking about their careers interested in the precast concrete and construction industries.
“PCI Precast Days is a celebration of the innovation, quality, and resilience that define precast concrete,” said Becky King, PCI’s vice president of marketing and education. “By encouraging our members to open their doors to students and the public, we’re helping to build awareness of the vital role precast concrete plays in modern construction and inspiring future professionals to explore the opportunities within the industry.”
PCI’s 143 producer members operate 259 PCI-certified plants. In 2024, PCI’s producer members’ sales totaled $7.4 billion. Prestressed concrete has been used in North American for more than six decades. It is manufactured off-site in a controlled environment with a high degree of quality control. The material is used in both architectural and structural applications. PCI’s members focus primarily on aboveground projects, including low- to high-rise buildings, parking structures, bridges, and other structures.
