Precast Concrete Market Report Outlines Industry’s Impact on National, State Economies

U.S. precast concrete manufacturers accounted for more than $25.8 billion in revenue and $5.1 billion in worker wages in 2022, employing approximately 102,000 individuals at its 2,730 facilities, according to an industry market report released this week by the National Precast Concrete Association (NPCA).

The report includes statistics obtained from NPCA members, non-member facilities and the U.S. Census Bureau. NPCA contracted with Industry Insights to compile the data.

Among the report’s other findings is that precast concrete manufacturers show a 6.9% revenue growth rate from 2018 to 2022, a positive growth rate that surpasses those of similar construction industries.

“Understanding and quantifying manufactured precast concrete’s impact at the local, state and federal levels is an important step in showing precast’s impact and why it is the No. 1 choice when it comes to rebuilding U.S. infrastructure,” said Joel Sheets, senior vice president of operations at Tindall Infrastructure and NPCA Chair of the Board.

The report’s executive summary is available for free by visiting Precast.org/IndustryData. The full study, which includes a state-by-state statistical breakdown, is available free to NPCA members. Non-members can purchase access to the full report by visiting Precast.org.
