Miyamoto International is proud to announce the promotion of Matt Gernandt, S.E., to Principal. Since joining our San Diego office in 2020, Matt has played a central role in delivering some of the firm’s most complex and mission-critical structural engineering projects.

Matt has proactively stepped into a leadership role, taking the initiative to organize and strengthen our operations across Southern California since joining Miyamoto in 2020. Beyond his 20 years of structural engineering experience, he has focused on the business side of delivery, ensuring our projects are run efficiently and effectively.

This promotion recognizes the leadership he has already demonstrated. Matt continues to drive high-value work across the education, healthcare, and government sectors, balancing technical safety with economic reality.
