Cathy Barnette Joins Dewberry as New Senior Environmental Scientist


















Dewberry has announced that Cathy Barnette has been hired as a senior environmental scientist in the firm's Daphne, Alabama, office.

For the last 20 years, Barnette has worked to promote environmental awareness and stewardship throughout coastal Alabama. In her new role as senior environmental scientist, she will be responsible for supervising the environmental group's permitting, compliance, and inspection reports in order to see projects through to the development phase.

Her experience spans both the private and public sectors throughout Alabama. Barnette previously held the position of operations manager at EcoSolutions, Inc., where she was responsible for environmental permitting.

"Cathy's extensive background in non-profit management and community engagement will be a great addition to our department," says Dewberry Associate Vice President John Avent, PLS. "We're thrilled to have her on board."

Barnette earned her bachelor's degree in environmental science from the University of Alabama and her master's degree in environmental education from the Audubon Expedition Institute/Lesley University. She is a Certified Professional in Erosion and Sediment Control (CPESC).
