AASHTO Releases First 2018 Update to Materials Standards

The association has released the first of three 2018 updates to its web-based edition of the publication known as Materials Standards, which contains specifications, test methods and provisional standards commonly used in the construction of highway infrastructure.

AASHTO through its Bookstore sells the Materials Standards as a one-year online subscription, which includes automatic access to all updates published during the subscription period as well as access to recent past editions, with changes between editions highlighted for ease of reference.

The Bookstore said customers may buy either a single-user license or choose among several multiple-user license options that offer deeper price discounts.

It publishes annual updates three times a year in mid-April, mid-June and mid-August that are prepared by the association's Committee on Materials and Pavements.

AASHTO said this year's April update includes seven new and 29 revised standards, and revises the sections on hydraulic cement and lime; fresh concrete; hardened concrete; pavement measurement; bridge and pavement preservation; and quality assurance and environmental.
