HDOT Adding More Than 4,200 Solar Panels at HNL Airport to Boost Sustainability
HONOLULU – In a continuing effort to be environmentally friendly the Hawaii Department of Transportation (HDOT) will install 4,260 new solar modules on the 7th floor of the Terminal 1 parking garage (formerly the Interisland Terminal). The solar modules are anticipated to generate 2 MW-DC/1.6 MW-AC, which is enough energy to power more than 328 homes (based on a full operational day of sunshine). Over the life of the project the total energy saved could power more than 175,000 homes. The solar e...

Major PV Solar Farm Approved in Outback South Australia
One of the largest photovoltaic solar farms in the Southern Hemisphere has been approved to be built in South Australia. Work is expected to begin on the Solar River Project in early 2019 with completion of the 220MW PV array and 120MWh lithium-ion battery in Stage 1 planned for the end of that year. Stage 2 – with a minimum of 200MW of generation and a 150MWh battery – is planned to begin construction in early 2020. Solar River secured the land, about 150km north of the South Australia...
Dutch ASML Realizes New hydropower Plant in Norway
11 June 2018 Oslo – Yet another European corporation, this time ASML - the Dutch technology company, has made the construction of a new renewable power plant possible. Sandvik, a small hydropower plant on the west coast of Norway, is now generating electricity and supplying clean power to the grid. ASML provided crucial top-financing to the building of Sandvik through a high impact renewable energy product called ECOHZ GO2. GO2 combines the purchase of documented renewable power with the financi...
Genesys, LLC Announces New Patented Renewable Power Generation Technology that Eliminates the Need for Battery Storage and Electrical Transmission Grids
Palo Alto, CA, June 5, 2018 – Genesys, LLC announces today that they received a US Patent for its solar amplifier that can generate very high electrical power in the multiple kilowatt range and run for 24/7 service using only one standard solar panel (200W). The Sun provides a thousand, billion, billion photons every second for every square meter at the Earth’s surface. Even on rainy days, the photon count is astronomical. A typical solar photon possesses a little more than one electron-volt...
Renewable Energy - Transformation is Picking Up Speed in the Power Sector, but Urgent Action is Required in Heating, Cooling and Transport
Renewable power accounted for 70% of net additions to global power generating capacity in 2017, the largest increase in renewable power capacity in modern history, according to REN21’s Renewables 2018 Global Status Report (GSR). But the heating, cooling and transport sectors – which together account for about four-fifths of global final energy demand – continue to lag far behind the power sector. The GSR, published today, is the most comprehensive annual overview of the state of renewable ene...
Corporate Sourcing of Renewables Growing, Taking Place in 75 Countries
Copenhagen, Denmark – Companies in 75 countries actively sourced 465 terawatt hours (TWh) of renewable energy in 2017, an amount close to the overall electricity demand of France, according to a new report from the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA). With the continued decline in the costs of renewables, the report suggests, corporate demand will continue to increase as companies seek to reduce electricity bills, hedge against future price spikes and address sustainability concerns....
